Fashion Preview – CHORUS

Living in Melbourne, I am spoilt for choice with local fashion produce. A recent development to this scene is CHORUS, a Collingwood based label that is locally designed and manufactured in Australia.

The label has just released their second collection rightly named ‘The Lab’, which is described by CHORUS as a softly tailored women’s wear line bringing to life a set of characters from an imagined world. The Doctor, Patient, Factory worker and Shopkeeper ensembles are refinements of costumes designed by Chorus for a live performance staged by artist Lucy McRae…(see below for a snap from the vid)  The collection focuses on tactile wool crepe and jersey mixed with silk organza with a graph paper like check print, while water repellant sateen has been used for Lab coat styles. Jersey and stretch fabrications exist as panelling or entire garments building upon Chorus’ desire for functionality and comfort masked in luxury.

I’m a huge fan of their designs as they craft each piece lovingly right down to the luxurious fabrics they source for the range. The pieces are tailored so they fit your body but still are extremely comfortable – this is where the fabric selection comes into it’s own. From the soft drape of The Patient top to the panelling of The Customer dress, The Lab has a well structured line with character and effortless comfort with designs to suit the differing shapes of most modern day women.

I see gold…….. gold… gold…:)

Even the boys were loving the fasshuun

How great does the back of The Apron top look layered over The Classic Tux leggings from last season, love the crop over the ankle.

I need this top in my life. Just the right amount of draping – and no ironing necessary!

This is another for the wishlist… Dr Jumper in Gold & Black. Handy to dress up and down for the colder months. Surprisingly enough I want the black one! Look how they both catch the light so magnificently. when winter arrives in Melbourne, so will this jumper to my closet.

19: The Apron top front view with it’s matching skirt and cap – how cute i that cap!!! 21: Dr Jumper as seen in the lookbook. (So wish they made the skirt! Could match with The Customer dress instead).

I am hoping to do a blog outfitting collaboration with these guys soon, so watch this space!
